Trying to figure out your child sometimes is really hard. What I have learned, and I am sure it will be continuous is that Bryce is a visual person. She does better when she is shown how to do things or even just pictures of what you want her to do, then she figures the rest out. We are trying to make her be more independent and have certain jobs that are all her own. She loves having responsibilities and jobs, her very own jobs. So that is when I decided to make her a job board.
On her job board there is a row for everyday of the week, and a number of jobs that she has to do for that day. When she completes the job, she takes out a little hanging picture of the job she completed and hangs it on a hook. Once the picture is hung, she then gets a happy face coin to go into the jar. At the end of the week, if she did all her jobs, has all her coins, they can be turned into something fun. She will be able to pick a trip to the ice cream store, a new book, or something small like that for a great reward. I know that you are supposed to have your child have responsibilities with no reward, but, she is only three.
Each day, Bryce is responsible for things like brushing her teeth, making her bed, getting dressed, brushing her hair, putting her pj's on, putting her pj's away and doing her recycling (she loves this job). There are two days a week that she has additional jobs, they are emptying the small trash cans upstairs and helping Daddy take the big trash cans to the curb.
The Happy Face coin jar!!!
Bryce is so excited about this job board and just can't wait to do her jobs each day. Alan says,"It won't last". I sure hope that it will and that she will always love having responsibilities.

Very cute! And honestly, adults work for reward too -- it's called a paycheck :)
That's very creative. It's true...we get paid for out jobs. Although all the things done in home get rewarded much differently but there is a reward nonetheless.
