Ice Cream Making

We are so positive that Bryce loved her birthday to the fullest, she slept till 10:00 this morning. So Kendall and I hung out, made a new recipe for slow cooker soup in the crock pot and watched the rain. When Bryce did finally wake up, first thing she wanted was a cinnamon roll and a little slice of cake. I did give in on the cinnamon roll, but not the cake. I had other plans in mind for a treat for the day. One of Bryce's birthday presents from us was this ball that you make ice cream in. In under 30 minutes with a little ball play, you have homemade ice cream and man was it so good. Really it is a great idea, you have to work for the end result, so you are burning calories to eat a treat. Nice!
In one end, you add ice and rock salt. The other end with the canister, you add 2 cups cream, sugar, and vanilla (or other flavors depending on what kind of ice cream you want), and then you seal it tight. You roll it, toss it, shake it, whatever, just keep it going for 10 minutes. Then you open the canister, scrap the sides, check the ice and continue for 5-10 more minutes.

...then you have ice cream. These balls come in all different colors and several sizes. We just got the pint size for Bryce and to really see if it worked. As you can see, it does. So fun. I think this a wonderful unique gift for anyone.

Remember when? I do! I can't wait to see what this looks like in the morning, I am sure that I need a lesson in putting them in. But, what a memory, what a new fun treat for Bryce. Thanks Grandma Ginny!
