Tire Swing in the making...

With Daddy's new work schedule today, there was a little time for extra play. So we made it a work/play day. We were given this great tire a few weeks ago from our friend Wendy. It just some how found it's way onto her yard one morning and she didn't know what to do with it. It did get a few suggestions, like making it the yard's Christmas tree, or a planter for flowers. But instead, the tires second life was going to become a new toy for Bryce and any other little playmate that comes to visit. So, we headed off to get some rope today and Bryce loved picking out the green/white striped rope.
Both girls, really seem to be getting better today and I am so glad. Kendall actually wanted to play today and that was a welcomed sight. Looks like we are close to normal here, right!
Here is the tire, looking forward at a second chance at life.
Bryce and Daddy getting it set at just the right height.Getting excited!Thank you so much Wendy for this great treasure!!! Kendall loved watching all the events unfolding in the yard. She was really not too sure about the little breeze in her face. If you touch Kendall's nose, she thinks that she is suffocating. So add a little wind and well! The tire was done, really done. It was not going to work for a swing. It was not going to get that second chance at life listening to little squeals of joy. It sank!!!The rope stretched.......but fun was still had. Looks like Daddy needs to tighten the rope and we need to get another tire. We can't have a collapsing tire swing, that would not be fun (or safe).
It was a great day in the backyard, the orchids bloomed...
...and the Blue Jay's came for their peanuts. I love this time outside, but it's the middle of February and I want the rain not these 80' days.
